Why Plant-Based Wax?
If you're new to mountainFLOW, you'll quickly realize that every consumable we make follows the plant-based formulation ethos. Why do we do this? There are a few parts to this question. First is because plants are natural (duh); using plant-based formulas when you're out exploring the natural world via bike or skis/snowboard is a logical symbiosis. But, as we've said many times, you can be as sustainable as you want but if the products don't work, then who cares? Which brings us to point number two: we've been able to achieve a similar or better performance threshold than the currently available products on the market that are derived from petroleum. So you have a line of products that performs at the highest levels and is manufactured with more sustainable and renewable materials than the status quo. We call that a win/win. The third reason is that everything you put on your skis, snowboard, or bike eventually sheds off into the environment. With our plant-based, biodegradable, non-toxic, petroleum-free formulas, you're putting plants on and plants are coming off. With other options, even if the formulations have changed and you're not shedding PFAS or PFCs or other wicked nasty stuff, you're still shedding petroleum which ultimately, isn't great. With mountainFLOW, you get to literally have your cake and eat it, too: high performance and peace of mind.
We'll leave it with a question: what good is anything if we don't constantly reexamine old ways of doing things in order to create better processes, more sustainable products, and less environmental harm? Don't unwittingly harm the places you love the most while doing the things you love to do.
